RESCUE HEARING INC. ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF BUSINESS ADVISOR ANDREW KOOPMAN

GAINESVILLE- October 13, 2020- Rescue Hearing Inc., a team of visionary, internationally recognized physicians, scientists, and bioengineers focused on developing new gene therapies to eliminate hearing loss, announced the addition of Business Advisor Andrew Koopman. 

“Andrew is a native New Yorker and longtime 

participant in the NYC life science entrepreneurial 

ecosystem who has developed many relationships 

over the years,” said RHI CEO Jim Ayala. Over the 

course of more than a decade at NYU, Andrew had 

worked alongside many life science startups. . 

Further, he brings with him investment banking and 

“big pharma” experience. He will be helping RHI to 

identify and approach prospective investors Andrew 

is a very good fit with RHI’s culture of bringing 

technology from ‘Bench to Clinic.’” 

Andrew Koopman joins RHI with more than 30 years  in the Biotechnology and Biomedical industries. He is currently, a business development consultant and strategic advisor, working with universities, investors, biotechnology/biomedical startups, and incubators. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for PainQx, Inc., an officer in Applied Glycan Technologies, Inc., and an NIH SBIR mentor. 

Prior to consulting, Mr. Koopman was CEO and President of Zero Gravity Life Sciences where he was responsible for the development and execution of the strategic business plan, intellectual property and grant strategies, and management of the scientific team. From 2006 to 2016, he was Director of New Ventures at New York University where he launched and built startup companies based upon NYU’s life science technologies. Prior to that, he served as a Managing Director at Beroff Associates, a boutique merchant investment bank, after a decade in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout his career, Koopman has gained extensive industry knowledge and experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Product Development, Business Development, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Strategy, Research and Development, Medical Devices, Licensing, and more.
